Monday: Motivation & Mindset
Kickstart Your Week with Purpose, Even When It Feels Like a Mountain
Let’s be honest—Mondays can be hard. Whether you're on the mission field, raising support, working a full-time job, or just trying to stay afloat spiritually, the beginning of the week can feel more like a mountain than a fresh start.
I’ll never forget one Monday a few years back when I woke up in Tanzania, completely discouraged.
The outreach I was working with had fallen through. I really wanted to make a impact. Finances were low. And worst of all—I felt spiritually dry.
That morning, I did the one thing I still had the strength to do: I brewed a cup of coffee and opened my Bible.
God met me in that quiet moment with a verse I had read dozens of times but suddenly needed like oxygen:
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. “
Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)*
It was a reminder that strength doesn’t come from hustle—it comes from hope. And hope doesn’t come from circumstances—it comes from Christ
That day didn’t get much easier. But my mindset had shifted.
I stopped looking at the mountain and started trusting the God who moves mountains.
Monday Motivation Tips:
Here are three simple ways to realign your mindset and fuel your motivation today:
1. Start with the Word- Even 5 minutes in Scripture can reframe your entire day.
2. Write a “God’s Got This” List– Jot down what feels overwhelming, and declare His control over it.
3. Move Your Body, Quiet Your Mind– Go for a short walk, stretch, or simply sit in silence with a cup of coffee and let Him speak.
This Week’s Thought:
Your mission matters. Your Monday matters.
Whether you're preaching the Gospel in another nation or encouraging someone at your kitchen table, God is using your faithfulness.
So go into this week with open hands and a hopeful heart.
The mountain may still be there—but so is the God who moves mountains!
